My story

Protecting the Earth shouldn’t feel scary or boring. It should feel like an adventure - full of curiosity, discovery, and moments that make children’s eyes light up.

That’s why I created It’s Our Planet Too — a children’s eco brand and social enterprise that turns big environmental ideas into fun, inspiring activity kits. But here’s what makes us different…

It’s Our Planet Too is an invitation to play differently, to see differently, and to rediscover the joy already waiting in the world around us. Our Tool Kits For Eco Heroes aren’t about adding more 'stuff'. They’re about taking it away — showing children that the real treasure isn’t something you buy, but something you notice. A surprising fact. A messy experiment. A moment of wonder that stays with them long after the box is gone.

As parents, we want to protect our children - but also prepare them. Our kits spark imagination, fuel positive action, and show that even the smallest voices can make a big impact.

Because when a child discovers how extraordinary the natural world is, something shifts... They don’t just learn about the planet - they fall in love with it. And that’s where real change begins.

This is my story...

  • Right at the beginning of my small business journey, someone asked me when I first started to care about the environment. It dawned on me that there’s been a little touch of ‘eco’ running through my blood for as long as I can remember…

    As a child of the eighties, I remember our primary school holding a mock election and being the only child to vote green. At 8 years old, I was completely unable to understand why no ones else shared my idealistic view of saving the planet.

    So the idea for It’s Our Planet Too came about many years ago. Having studied Environmental Science at university, I had an idea for a website aimed at children about the environment, so I registered a few domain names, doodled a logo and forgot about it.

    As my life changed and the London commute and the busy job were replaced by family life, I needed something to keep my brain ticking over. Inspired by the numerous children’s books I was reading every day, I started to write stories about endangered animals. I never intended to write in rhyme but these were the books that my children and I loved, so I decided to give it a go. Little did I know that these would become the foundation of It’s Our Planet Too. You'll find some of these rhymes dotted throughout our website, they are also included in our animal themed kits.

    Fast forward a few years and my children are growing up in a world facing very real challenges. Their generation is starting to take notice of our impact on the environment. We need them to become eco-heroes who are empowered to make a difference. It’s Our Planet Too is about inspiring them to care…  It’s Eco Fun For Little People!
